Dr. Mahsima Shabani receives the Eric N. Prystowsky Early Career Researcher Award

Dr. Mahsima Shabani received the award for research on the genetic evaluation of patients from the Vanderbilt Atrial Fibrillation Precision Medicine Clinic.

The Eric N. Prystowsky Early Career Researcher Award recognizes excellence in clinical research and is awarded to the investigator at the Heart Rhythm Society’s Scientific Sessions who submits the highest scoring abstract among the Clinical Electrophysiology and Ablation categories.

This year there were over 450 submissions and Dr. Shabani’s work analyzing the genetic results from Vanderbilt AFib clinic patients rose to the top. She got the opportunity to present her work as a platform presentation to a large crowd, reaching dozens of colleagues to impress upon them the value of genetic testing and precision medicine in atrial fibrillation care. Great job, Dr. Shabani!
