Brief Description

Leah Hoffman has served as a Clinical Trials Associate I in Vanderbilt University Medical Center’s division of Nephrology since the summer 2021. Leah received her B.S. in Mathematics at Trevecca Nazarene University in 2020 and joined the research group after working in the field of industrial health. Leah is motivated by helping people and uses her natural ability for problem-solving and organization skills to make research studies fun and feasible for many patients. Leah is involved in a variety of tasks across multiple studies. This includes helping write grants and launching studies, as well as recruitment and study maintenance. Her research focuses on addressing health disparities among African American hemodialysis patients, improving their behavioral health outcomes, and creating culturally sensitive care for these patients. This includes health coaching and identifying factors associated with dialysis non-adherence.
