A recent article in Healio Rheumatology featured findings from Dr. Cecilia Chung's study published in Arthritis Care & Research. Co-authored with Dr. Jocelyn Gandelman and others, the retrospective study found that resistant hypertension was twice as common in patients with lupus than those without. Moreover, lupus patients with resistant hypertension had worse clinical outcomes than other patients. The study shows how important it is to diagnose and treat blood pressure among patients with lupus. You can find the Healio Rheumatology article here.
