Research News @ Vanderbilt highlighted a recent publication by Dr. Cecilia Chung and colleagues that studied the risk of hypotension in patients taking tizanidine or cyclobenzaprine (another muscle relaxant) concurrently with a strong CYP1A2 inhibitor. The study shows that patients taking tizanidine more frequently had hypotension than patients taking cyclobenzaprine. Patients with more comorbidities as well as those taking three or more antihypertensive drugs had a higher risk of severe hypotension. Click here to read the article in full.
