Fabian Bock, MD, PhD, is an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Division of Nephrology and Hypertension within the Department of Medicine at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

He earned an MD and PhD from the University of Heidelberg in Germany and completed his clinical training (residency and nephrology fellowship) in Vanderbilt’s Physician Scientist Training Program (Harrison Society). He practices general medicine and nephrology at the Nashville VA.

Dr. Bock completed a postdoctoral fellowship with Dr. Roy Zent exploring how the kidney epithelial actin cytoskeleton is regulated during development. He has developed expertise in renal epithelial cell culture models, advanced imaging, and mouse kidney phenotyping to assess the mechanistic role of target proteins. Dr. Bock's group is currently interested in cell cytoskeletal remodeling during kidney tubular repair.
