Wendy Kilbourne, RN

Wendy Kilbourne, RN, BSN, NBC-HWC, has been the Atrial Fibrillation Nurse Coordinator at Vanderbilt Heart and Vascular Institute since 2019. In the Atrial Fibrillation Precision Medicine Clinic, she fills the role of both the clinic nurse and health and wellness coach. She is passionate about counseling patients on behavior and lifestyle to address modifiable risk factors for atrial fibrillation. 

The 2023 ACC/AHA/ACCP/HRS Guidelines on Management of Atrial Fibrillation presented the “HEAD 2 TOES” mnemonic for modifiable risk factors for AF and Wendy works with providers to develop a personalized care plan for treatment of Heart Failure, Exercise, Arterial Hypertension, Diabetes Type 2, Tobacco Use, Obesity, Ethanol, and Sleep Quality.
