Zain Virk, MD

Zain Virk, MD, is an Internal Medicine resident at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, with an interest in cardiology. Prior to residency, he attended medical school at Harvard. He has been working with Dr. Ben Shoemaker since 2022 on projects that study atrial fibrillation in patients with pathogenic variants on genetic testing. 

He presented an abstract on clinical characteristics and outcomes in patients with atrial fibrillation and pathogenic TTN variants at the 2024 Heart Rhythm Society conference and findings from this work have been submitted for publication in an arrhythmia journal. Dr. Virk hopes to pursue cardiology fellowship training.
