Claude Albritton is a PhD candidate in Dr. Annet Kirabo’s laboratory, studying the potential role of glucocorticoid receptor in salt-sensitive hypertension. Classically, the IsoLG pathway of salt-sensitive hypertension is thought to be initiated by mineralocorticoid receptor activity upregulating serum/glucocorticoid kinase 1, but we have found that the initiating receptor may controversially be glucocorticoid receptor instead.

Albritton's long-term career goals are to use use his skills as a physician-scientist to innovate therapeutics for diseases, lead teams of clinicians and scientists to improve healthcare procedures and pursue business ownership in medical care.
