Dr. Amanda Doran’s research interest is in the cellular-molecular biology of cardiomatabolic disease. In particular, she is interested in mechanisms by which the immune system modulates the development of advanced atherosclerosis and promotes the resolution of inflammation. In addition, she has a clinical interest in preventive cardiology and lipidology.

The Doran lab is interested in the immunologic and molecular mechanisms underlying atherosclerotic and cardiometabolic disease. In particular, they are interested in the reasons that the chronic inflammation underlying these diseases fails to resolve. Dr. Doran's team focuses primarily on the functions of macrophages and T lymphocytes as well as the crosstalk between these two cell types.

Dr. Doran's areas of expertise include: cardiovascular medicine, general cardiology, hypercholesterolemia and/or dyslipidemia, and preventive cardiology.
