Professional bio
Kaele Leonard, MD, majored in neuroscience and behavioral biology with a minor in global health at Emory University, studying abroad in Madagascar on a Traditional Medicine and Healthcare Systems program. She returned to her hometown of Chicago to attend Rush Medical College, where she spent time volunteering in Chicago's underserved communities and participated on a global health trip to the Dominican Republic.

Dr. Leonard chose VUMC for the well-round clinical and procedural training, supportive research mentors, and the camaraderie in the division between the fellows and faculty. For her research, she has worked on a project with an IP group looking at factors of successful bronchoscopy and predictors of malignancy in patients referred to IP and lung nodule clinic.
