Professional bio
My research interests: I'm interested in critical care outcomes research, particularly in comparative effectiveness and pragmatic trials. It's my personal goal to bring principles from Implementation Science upstream in order to improve how we design, conduct, interpret, and disseminate the findings of pragmatic trials.
Why I chose VUMC for fellowship: On my interview day, I met with several potential mentors who were doing exciting things in my areas of interest, and in those conversations, I was inspired about the future of critical care. They had trained previous fellows and had the available bandwidth to teach me the ways of clinical research. Additionally, the Medical ICU and procedural training and experience here is outstanding, and it is balanced with a very strong pulmonary focus, which is also important to me.
