Joohyun Kim, PhD, is a Research Instructor in the Division of Genetic Medicine in the Department of Medicine at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

Over the past two decades, Dr. Kim's research career has successfully broadened within the topics of chemistry, biophysics, computational biology, and bioinformatics, which have collectively positioned him uniquely as a life-science computational data scientist. He specializes in the development of advanced cyber-infrastructure, primarily leveraging high-performance computing, cloud computing, distributed computing, and state-of-the-art web techniques.

Dr. Kim actively pursues effective solutions for challenging life science applications with statistical/machine learning techniques and Big Data scale genomics/biomedical research. He has a life-long dedication to this challenge, i.e., an integrative multi-omics approach for genotype-phenotype relationship by amalgamating such multi-disciplinary strategies.
