Professional bio

Kevin Byram, MD has clinical and research interests in the primary vasculitides. Through funding from the Vasculitis Foundation and Vasculitis Clinical Research Consortium, he completed an additional year of fellowship training at the Cleveland Clinic under the mentorship of Dr. Carol Langford to further study these important diseases. Dr. Byram worked with Dr. Michelle Ormseth at Vanderbilt University Medical Center on a project exploring the microRNA expression profiles of patients with ANCA-associated vasculitis. 

As a medical resident at VUMC, Dr. Byram received the Rheumatology Research Foundation Medical and Pediatric Resident Research Award from the Rheumatology Research Foundation. He helped establish the Vanderbilt Vasculitis Center with the mission of optimizing care for patients with vasculitis. Dr. Byram’s research interests include identifying unique microRNA expression patterns in patients with ANCA-associated vasculitis as well as leveraging the electronic health record to systematically study outcomes in patients with vasculitis.
