VDRC is now accepting applications for Pilot and Feasibility (P&F) Awards in the following areas:

Vanderbilt Diabetes Research Center P&F Grant 

Covers basic and/or clinic research related to diabetes, metabolism, and/or obesity

Vanderbilt Diabetes Center Discovery Program Grant

Covers diabetes and/or obesity-related pilot studies that utilize high-throughput facility BioVU and/or the mass spectrometry research centers

These P&F awards are supported by the Vanderbilt Diabetes Research Center (NIH grant DK20593).

VDRC offers new Discovery Funding Opportunities

The Vanderbilt Diabetes Research Center will offer two new Discovery Funding Opportunities, one-year awards to jumpstart bold ideas and accelerate core-enabled science.

Discovery Voucher grant information

The Discovery Grant 

$25,000 for one year

  • Seed funding: Ideal for diabetes and obesity pilot studies.
  • Growth: Designed to generate preliminary data to compete for larger, external awards.
  • Innovation: A perfect fit for exploring new scientific directions and technology-enabled discovery. 

Discovery Core Voucher

$5,000-$10,000 per year, one year

  • Core access: Supports the use of VDRC core services and supported methods.
  • Availability: 2-3 awards typically granted annually based on available funding.
  • Streamlined application: 1-2 page covering rationale, specific aims, need, and future plans.
