Professional bio

Dr. Bloodworth received her degree in biology at the University of Notre Dame and her medical and doctorate degrees from Vanderbilt University Medical School. Her thesis work focused on the regulation of immune responses, including the role of GLP-1R signaling, during airway inflammation. She completed an internal medicine residency and allergy & immunology fellowship at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. During fellowship, Dr. Bloodworth helped the Cahill group evaluate the potential of GLP-1R agonist drug repurposing for type 2 inflammation. She is currently an associate medical director in AbbVie's physician development program. Throughout her career, Dr. Bloodworth hopes to contribute to efforts to treat inflammatory disease by modulating immune responses.
