Originally from Walterboro, SC, Shane received his Bachelor's Degree in Biology at the University of South Caroline-Beaufort. As an undergrad, Shane conducted drug recovery research trying to develop novel treatments for Chagas' disease and African sleeping sickness. His work in the Wilson lab focuses on finding new treatment options for inflammatory bowel disease and colorectal cancer.
