Professional bio

Giovanni Davogustto, MD, MSCI, is a general cardiologist with a special interest in genetic and metabolic determinants of arrhythmias and cardiomyopathies. He completed his medical school training at the Universidad Central de Venezuela, graduating magna cum laude. He then pursued internal medicine training at the McGovern Medical School of the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston and cardiovascular medicine fellowship at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. 
 
During his training in internal medicine he received the "outstanding intern of the year" and "outstanding resident in ambulatory medicine" awards. He was also inducted into the Gold Humanism Honor Society and Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. In fellowship, Dr. Davogustto was awarded the Cardiovascular Medicine Rhode's Award for scholarly activity and was selected to be a chief fellow.
 
He is thrilled to stay at Vanderbilt to start his career as faculty, where he will be involved in clinical education and research in arrhythmia mechanisms.
