Sarah Wood, MS, is a Research Coordinator in the Department of Medicine's Division of Rheumatology and Immunology. Originally a science teacher and native of Alabama, she moved to Tennessee in 2020 to pursue her master's degree in biomolecular science. She began her healthcare career during the height of the Covid pandemic in Vanderbilt's Division of Infectious Diseases, but found her dedication lay more in autoimmune disease research and stem cell therapy options. She strives for providing genuine patient-focused care, education, and advancements in individualized medicine. She currently works alongside several talented specialists in scleroderma (SSc), psoriatic arthritis (PsA), spondyloarthritis clinical and research programs at VUMC.
