Welcome to the Vanderbilt Translational and Clinical Cardiovascular Research Center (VTRACC)

We are deeply committed to improving cardiovascular health for all humans through high-quality, impactful research and training future cardiovascular researchers.

Our Mission

To advance cardiovascular health through innovative translational and clinical research.

The VTRACC Approach

We are a multidisciplinary group of investigators and research support personnel whose purpose is to accelerate high-quality innovative research. Our core philosophy is that together we achieve more, faster, and with greater impact, through collaborative sharing of ideas and resources.

Key Research Areas

Our portfolio of research spans the breadth of cardiovascular disease, its risk factors and associated conditions.

Our team leads bedside-to-bench research, translates preclinical findings and accelerates early human results to broader populations.

We utilize a variety of methods including human physiologic studies and clinical trials, observational cohort studies, big data from health systems and consortiums, multi-omics, multi-modality non-invasive cardiovascular imaging, and many more.

History

Since our founding in 2013, our team has tripled in size, received more than $100 million in research funding, and contributed to more than 1,000 publications.  Our trainees have joined faculty at academic medical centers, including Vanderbilt. Our faculty and research staff are local, national, and international leaders.

To achieve our aim of impacting cardiovascular health we actively listen to our patients, research participants, collaborators, and their communities, and embrace diverse voices and ideas. We are committed to an inclusive team environment which values all backgrounds, roles, and contributions.
