Eddie Qian received a B.A. in Medicine, Health, & Society and Molecular and Cellular Biology, with a minor in Art in May 2022. Eddie previously worked at the W.M. Keck Center for Collaborative Neuroscience at Rutgers University – New Brunswick with a focus on regenerative therapies for neurodegeneration and neurodevelopmental conditions. His research has focused on understanding cellular death mechanisms associated with AKI progression and examining potential therapies.

Since joining the Woodard Lab in June of 2020, Qian has studied the potential mechanisms of SARS-CoV-2 mediated AKI in tissue culture and looked at the potential of exosomes as a method to mitigate cell death in nephrotoxic kidney injury models. He has experience in cell culture technique, transfection, staining, microscopy, exosome isolation, image quantification and analysis, and digital illustration for research infographics. Qian has co-authored three papers since starting at the Woodard lab.
