Julie Bejoy, PhD, is a Research Fellow in the Division of Nephrology and Hypertension within the Department of Medicine at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

She earned her B.S. in 2009 in Biomedical Engineering from Calicut University in Kerala, India. She obtained her M.S. in 2016 and her Ph.D. in 2019 in Biomedical Engineering from Florida A&M University in Tallahassee, FL. For her thesis, she studied the impact of cell signaling modulation and biomaterials on neural and astroglial organoids formed from induced pluripotent stem cells.

Julie Bejoy joined the Woodard Lab in July 2019. Her Woodard Lab research interests include the generation of kidney organoids and podocytes from induced pluripotent stem cells and reprogramming induced nephron progenitors for kidney regeneration. She is skilled in stem cell-derived organoid tissue culture, protocol formulation, transfection, staining, and microscopy techniques. Dr. Bejoy has presented numerous conference abstracts and has co-authored over twenty publications on stem cells and organoids.
