Vanderbilt Center for Quality Aging
A multi-disciplinary geriatrics research center
The mission of the Center for Quality Aging is to foster multidisciplinary aging research to improve quality of care and quality of life for older adults across a variety of care settings.
Our goals:
- Conduct innovative research to improve care quality for older adults across the continuum of care to include hospital and emergency care, post-acute care, and dementia care within assisted-living and long-term care services
- Provide mentorship and research training opportunities to the next generation of investigators and clinicians to enhance care quality and independence for older adults
- Provide educational resources for providers, patients and families related to caring for older adults with and without dementia.

Research Projects
Research topics include deprescribing interventions and hospital safety for elderly patients, training for geriatric care providers, and more.
Dining Assistant Training
We offer nursing home staff the tools and guidance they need to improve quality of care, including our unique Dining Assistant Training program.

The Center for Quality Aging offers a curated list of links to trusted resources for clinicians, researchers, patients and families.
Join our Team
We offer a broad range of training in aging-related research:
- Independent study and/or thesis mentorship for graduate students
- Research rotations or summer internships for medical students
- Opportunities for post-doctoral fellows or residents in medicine, pharmacy, nursing and clinical psychology
