Professional bio
Bjorn Knollmann, MD, PhD, is a Professor of Medicine and Pharmacology at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. He serves as director of the Vanderbilt Center for Arrhythmia Research and Therapeutics (VanCART) and holds the William Stokes Endowed Chair in Experimental Therapeutics. He is the Principal Investigator of the Excitation-Contraction Coupling and Arrhythmia Lab and is board-certified in Internal Medicine and Clinical Pharmacology. With ongoing support from the NIH, AHA and foundations, his team carries out basic, translational, and clinical studies that investigate biologic mechanisms driving sudden death with the goal to identify new treatments for heart rhythm disorders.
