AFRI-SCAR network
The vision of the African Severe Cutaneous Adverse Reactions (AFRI-SCAR) Network is to unite different African countries with the common goal of developing strategies for prevention, early/improved diagnosis, and practical approaches for treating severe cutaneous adverse drug reactions (SCARs). Encompassed in this mission is identifying both biomarkers and pharmacogenomic markers of SCARs. In addition, the AFRI-SCAR Network aims to continuously improve and harmonize the treatment and management of SCARS patients.
Next steps
- Expansion of AFRI-SCAR to other African countries
- Hosting the AFRI-SCAR symposium in 2024
- Continuing to develop local African scientists to improve patient care and risk stratification
