Professional bio

Evan Brittain, MD, MSCI, is a Professor of Medicine in the Division of Cardiovascular Medicine, Department of Medicine at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, and has an active translational research program focused on mechanisms of pulmonary vascular disease and right heart failure.

Additionally, Dr. Brittain's research focuses on the epidemiologic, molecular, and genetic profiling of pulmonary hypertension phenotypes and the use of wearable devices to monitor and promote physical activity in pulmonary hypertension and other chronic diseases.

In each of these areas Dr. Brittain has leveraged the full complement of research capacity including experimental models, human clinical trials, and large institutional databases to test hypotheses. Each of these research areas has led to grant funding, manuscript publication, and contributions to the understanding of pulmonary vascular disease.
