The faculty of the Department of Dermatology are experts in a broad range of clinical and research topics. Areas of clinical expertise include Medical Dermatology, Dermatological Surgery, Pediatric Dermatology, Dermatopathology and Cutaneous Oncology, among others. Research interests span the spectrum of health studies from the laboratory to studies in populations. For example, faculty have particular expertise in immunobiology and the pathogenesis of immunologically-mediated inflammatory skin diseases, use of AI-data science methods to evaluate clinical imaging data and use them to follow clinical course, use of genetic epidemiology to study skin carcinogenesis, and the development and testing of comprehensive outcomes tools such as measures of patient reports.
