A. Scott McCall, MD, PhD, is a physician-scientist who treats interstitial lung disease (ILD) patients at the Nashville VA Medical Center. His research is focused on mechanisms of lung repair and regeneration with a focus on cellular metabolism. He conducts translational research within the Vanderbilt Lung Institute focusing on pulmonary fibrosis and developing new therapies to improve lung regeneration after injury.
He is a graduate of the Kansas State University, obtained a PhD in pharmacology, and completed his clinical fellowship training in pulmonary disease and critical care at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
Dr. McCall's research has been supported through funding from the NHLBI T32 program as a fellow, and currently by the Vanderbilt Faculty Research Scholars (VFRS) program.
