The Vanderbilt Diabetes Research Center (VDRC) team participated in the 2026 ADA Step Out Walk on Saturday, May 2 in Nashville. The VDRC raised over $2,500 in donations that will go towards diabetes advocacy and research. The event raised nearly $130,000 total to support American Diabetes Association's vision of "life free of diabetes and all its burdens." The ADA created this event to raise awareness for diabetes, connect those affected by diabetes and their families with resources and groups that support diabetes care, and raise money for continued research in the effort to eradicate diabetes.
