Cole Lacey grew up in Michigan and attended Michigan State University where he earned a degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology/ Biotechnology in 2018. He then moved to South Carolina and worked for BASF for a short time. Lacey pursed a master's degree from Clemson University in Bioengineering and joined the Hartert Research Team in November of 2021.
