Course Information
Early Bird Price: $600 (on or before August 7, 2023)
General Pricing: $750 (on or after August 8, 2023)
Participants MUST participate in the full program to earn 15.25 nursing contact hours
Advanced Practice Nurses will engage in a 2-day transformational professional development program that aims to enhance and improve knowledge and skills and performance caring for patients requesting/requiring controlled substances.
Participants will engage in various teaching strategies including group discussions, case-based discussions, role plays, Q&A, and practice to develop knowledge and skills.
The ANA has stated that the opioid epidemic supports the need for nurses - advanced practice registered nurse (APRNs) – to be “properly trained and educated in opioid prescribing” and deemed this “a critical and necessary investment.”
1. Improved knowledge of individual and office-based practices regarding proper prescribing of controlled substances
2. Enhanced skills on screening and identifying opioid use, misuse, and opioid use disorders
3. Raised awareness of the federal, state, and clinical practice guidelines related to proper prescribing and how to avoid board actions against one’s license
Participants will engage in various teaching strategies including group discussions, case-based discussions, role plays, Q&A, and practice to develop knowledge and skills.

Course registration must be cancelled at least 30 days prior to the first day of the course to receive a refund.
